NENF offers riding lessons for beginners thru advanced, huntseat , saddleseat, western, and driving All students are taught how to safely handle the horses on the ground and under saddle.

NENF specializes in providing the individual rider with a foundation to learn and advance in all the aspects of horsemanship. We focus on safety and learning to communicate with your equine partner. Classes are all private to ensure individualized attention. Students may also gain experience in showing by attending local shows.

Our Philosophy is to teach every rider to his/ her best ability and desire. We customize a training curriculum toward your needs. From proficient horsemanship for trail, pleasure riding to the competitive show ring we can make you a better rider.

In order to maintain consistent progress, we encourage students to ride in at least one lesson per week, usually scheduled on the same day and time each week. Our large indoor arena allows lessons to continue year round regardless of the weather. It is located in the main barn and is easily viewed from our heated observation room.

Required Equipment : Proper foot wear must be worn. We suggest paddock or field boots, but any hard soled boot with a sturdy 1/2" heel is acceptable. Paddock boots are a popular style and can often be found inexpensively at a local discount retailer. Straight leg jeans with a stretch are appropriate for beginner lessons.  SEI/ASTM approved helmets must be worn at all times while mounted. NENF has a small supply available for new students to borrow until they have the opportunity to purchase their own. Please remember with winter here to dress warm. gloves and layers! Children should bring a pair of pants to throw on over their riding jods after their riding lessons.

Payment : Each 1/2 an hour riding lesson is $25. Payments are due at the end of every lesson. We also offer a ten lesson package for $225.

Cancellation :  A 24 hour notice is required for lesson cancellations. If notice is not received the lesson fee will still be charged.  NENF understands that emergency do come up and we are willing to work with you to set up another time for your lesson.
